Basic Group Obedience

Babette Haggerty School for Dogs will be offering a Basic Group Obedience Course at our West Village location. The class would begin Tuesday the 13th of July at 7:45PM and run for 7 weeks ending August 31st (skipping August 24th)

BASIC GROUP OBEDIENCE

Seven Session Course
Minimum requirements: For puppies and dogs 15 weeks and up.

At the end of the seven week course your dog will:

  • Walk on a loose leash through a store or a crowd
  • Sit Automatically when you stop walking
  • Sit-Stay from a twenty foot distance for three minutes while children run past.
  • Lay down and stay from a twenty foot distance for five minutes while dogs run past
  • Come when called from a twenty foot distance
  • Stand and stay while tolerating grooming and a veterinary exam
  • Leave things on the ground and not pick them up
  • Stop problem behavior such as jumping, running out the front door, nipping

GRADUATION INCLUDES THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB‘S CANINE GOOD CITIZEN TEST

Dr. Lucy O’Byrne will be holding another pet dental seminar for those that could not make it to our previous one. Upon attending, you will get a demonstration on how to brush your pet’s teeth as well as a free toothbrush and sample toothpaste. How many of you brush your pet’s teeth? Does your pet have foul breath? Imagine never brushing your teeth. Our pets can’t brush their own teeth, use mouthwash or go to the dentist on their own; that’s why they need your help.

At the West Village Veterinary Hospital Dr. Lucy O’Byrne, who has advanced training in animal dentistry, will be holding a workshop to educate pet owners about feline and canine dentistry. Dr. O’Byrne will also demonstrate how to brush your pet’s teeth.
